The habit of saying no
Most of what we look at never makes it to the site.
A sample arrives, and it is almost right. The gold tone is a shade too yellow, so it goes back. It comes again, closer, and goes back again. The clasp weighs a gram too little and feels it. The box opens at the wrong speed. None of this is dramatic. It is just a long series of small refusals, and it is most of the work.
Saying no is not a personality. You will not find it printed on our packaging, and it is a strange thing to celebrate. But it is the reason the catalog looks the way it does. Eighty pieces, give or take, where there could have been eight hundred. Every one of them is here because it survived every no we could think of.
There is a quieter reason to work this way. A small catalog means every piece has to hold its own corner. Nothing is filler. Nothing exists to make the collection look bigger. When you pick something from a shelf like that, the choosing has mostly been done before you arrived, and what is left is the pleasant part: which one is yours.
We think that is what considered means. Not a mood, not a font. Just the habit of saying no until what remains says yes on its own.
